119th Street Corridor Plan

This project is funded by the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) for the City of Chicago in association with the Far South Community Development Corporation.

Community Open House

The 119th Street Corridor Plan’s planning process began in the fall of 2014 and engaged residents, businesses, churches, and local institutions to shape and lead the plan.  Stakeholder meetings, focus groups, public workshops, Steering Committee meetings, a project website, and surveys (available electronically and thought hard copy), were used to reach the community.  The draft plan reflects those community ideas that were gathered and backed by data.

Please join us for the 119th Street Corridor Plan’s Open House on Thursday, September 24th at 6:00 PM at the Kroc Center, 1250 W. 119th Street!

Review plan elements and share your thoughts on topics such as bringing jobs to the community, attracting restaurants and retail, improving youth and senior relationships, and celebrating African American culture.  The Draft Plan is located here.
